Computer Science and Science-Based Business
This combination of science and business will both train you as a researcher in Computer Science and prepare you for going into industry and business. In close cooperation with senior research staff, you will do your own research project in the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science. Courses on theory and experimentation on the frontier of Science will further enhance your knowledge. In a networked and case-based programme on management, business and entrepreneurship you will learn about running science-driven companies and exploiting business opportunities created in research. Your newly acquired knowledge and skills you will apply and enhance further in a company internship or business assignment.
Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and Science-Based Business
The specialisation in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and Science-Based Business prepares you for a career in science-related business and for innovation and entrepeneurship with a biopharmaceutical bias. In addition to knowledge of bio-pharmaceutical sciences, master's students, In the first year of the specialisation, the emphasis is on bio-pharmaceutical sciences, and in the second year students concentrate on Science-Based Business.
Biology and Science-Based Business
This combination of science and business will both train you as a researcher in Biology and prepare you for going into industry and business. Chemistry and Science-Based Business
This track offers the opportunity to combine training in chemistry research with training in business and entrepreneurship. It enables science students to understand the fundamentals of business management and innovation. The emphasis is on science-driven organisations and on establishing new business based on the outcomes of scientific research.
Life Science-Based Business Development
In recent decades, life science research has enabled enormous breakthroughs in our understanding of fundamental molecular and cellular processes and mechanisms of life. The MSc programmes in Life Science & Technology in Leiden and Delft are complementary.
Knowledge about genomic organisation, studies of protein-protein interactions and the characterisation of molecular structures have become central in modern life science research and technology. This knowledge forms the basis of the molecular understanding of health and disease. It and finds important applications in innovative health care, in the pharmaceutical industry and in so-called 'red' biotechnology, and is the focus of the Leiden programme.
Mathematics and Science-Based Business

Astronomy and Science-Based Business
The MSc track in Astronomy and Science-Based Business (SBB) prepares students for a career in science-related business and administration and for innovation and enterprise from an astronomy perspective. In addition to knowledge of astronomy, students obtain competence with respect to organisations, people in organisations and the establishment and management of processes.
The first year of the track focuses on astronomy; in the second year the student will specialise in Science-Based Business.
Physics and Science-Based Business
This combination of science and business will both train you as a researcher in Physics and prepare you for going into industry and business.
